    I bought this for my husband who has been up and down with depression for years. We read about natural remedies and decided to give this a try. I only give him one capsule in the morning, not the daily dose of two. And he drinks it down with a glass St. John’s wort tea and takes one htp-5 tablet. I wasn’t sure if I was seeing results, but after a few weeks, he seemed much more relaxed, his appetite came back (so I’m not really sure about the appetite suppression), and he was great. I wasn’t sure which ones were most helpful, but I ran out of saffron twice in 9 months, and the week without it, his behavior and mood went from high to extremely low, and same once when I ran out of tea. The htp-5 showed no difference in mood when I ran out, but he still takes it, just in case. Back with the saffron and tea, there is a 100 percent turn around in mood, he functions like a person who is okay with life. I also give him the saffron because it is supposed to help with alzheimer’s symptoms. He is at very high risk of developing alzheimer’s, so we do whatever we can to prevent it. I’m not a medical professional, but I recommend this supplement as part of a natural way to help with depression symptoms. I gave it 4 stars because he hates taking them, they are big and taste and smell funny. I tried taking them for a couple days once, I didn’t enjoy the taste. I noticed a slight difference in scent from one bottle to the next, too. He might have better results if he took the recommended amount, but one tablet a day is really enough to balance him out. On the note of appetite suppression though, when he’s down, he loses his appetite and doesn’t eat, or eats very little. So that fact that he’s happy and can eat normally is a good thing for us. If you are an emotional eater, it may help (I’m not a medical professional) with mood eating.
