Safe for those with MTHFR!, April 26, 2016
    By

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
The number one thing that sold me on these prenatal vitamins is the fact that they contain folate instead of folic acid. I have MTHFR so my body cannot process the folic acid. The prescription prenatals with folate that my doctor insisted on were going to cost me $100 each month (insurance would not cover them because they did not have folic acid!) so I had to find a cheaper option.

I’ve tried my fair share of prenatals. Some would make me nauseous. Some would make me constipated. Some gave me migraines. Some were like swallowing horse pills. Some had multiple pills. Some have multiple pills that I had to take at different times of the day (seriously, who has time for THAT?!). But these are amazing! No ill tummy side effects, no migraines, just one pill, and it really isn’t that big for a multivitamin. And I LOVE the cost!

The fact that these pills are organic and natural is a HUGE plus! I don’t like to fill my body with unnecessary synthetics like you normally find in vitamins.

Finally, these are dairy and gluten free (among with other things, but I am dairy and gluten free for allergy reasons) so I can take them without fear of a reaction. I would definitely recommend these!

Ideal Prenatal vitamins!!, October 12, 2016
    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This is an ideal prenatal vitamin. It has higher amounts of vitamin D than most which is so important and most doctors won’t even get into the necessity of certain vitamins and minerals during pregnancy. My previous doctor told me that all prenatals are pretty much the same. Totally not true after doing some research! The fact that Best Nest also has the L-Methylfolate is also another reason why I went with this vitamin. I wanted to make sure my body, and baby, had the easiest and best form of folate to metabolize. Another pro to this vitamin is the higher amounts of B vitamins than others and also that it contains iodine which is another essential mineral your pregnant or breastfeeding body needs that your doctor probably won’t tell you about. It seems most Doctors just assume you’re getting these extra minerals and vitamins in your diet without even asking what your diet consists of! The only thing negative I would say is that it doesn’t have very much magnesium so I’m applying a homemade magnesium lotion to my feet every night which is the easiest way for your body to absorb magnesium. I actually stopped taking a couple other supplements because I feel this one is so adequate so the only other supplements I take are fish oil, calcium (the vitamin is a bit low on calcium) and 2000 IU additional vitamin D. The new recommendation for pregnant women for vitamin D intake is 4000 IU daily. So I get 1000 from the vitamin, 2000 additional supplementation, and the remaining I figure I get in my diet. This prenatal I felt was the next best thing compared to the expensive whole foods vitamin.

I felt a marked difference in my energy as soon as I started taking this Best Nest Wellness Prenatal vitamin. I took it throughout my pregnancy and truly had a great amount of energy. I am still taking it (nursing my now 1 year old) and can tell a difference in my energy level if I forget to take it. If I take it too late in the day, I won’t be able to fall asleep right away due to the added energy boost! Some other things that I love: no synthetic ingredients, it’s free of the common allergens and it’s got probiotics and enzymes added. I love that it’s in a 1 a day vitamin that is easy to swallow. And I think the price is amazing. In the past, I’ve paid 3x this price for prenatals that don’t measure up nearly as well as this one. This Best Nest Wellness Prenatal has some wonderful nourishing additions such as ginger and red raspberry leaf…things that my midwife had suggested me take throughout my pregnancy. It makes it so nice that it’s all together in this 1 easy pill. I’d recommend this to everyone!
