Give your health and energy a Brazilian boost.

Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) is a dark purple berry from deep in the jungles of Brazil. Natives there have long prized its health and energy boosting properties. Sound familiar? If the whole native thing isn’t enough for you to go on, studies suggest the acai berry packs a mean antioxidant punch (10x the antioxidant power of red grapes). So naturally, we thought it would make a great new Emergen-C flavor.

I was buying individual packets of these at Whole Foods and I thought I’d check the price at Amazon. I’m really glad I thought to do that…I am now saving 66% over what I was paying before. The only negative is that I have to get 30 of the same flavor, instead of one mangosteen, one dragon fruit, one cranberry-pomegranate, etc. BUT the Acai Berry flavor is pretty good so I don’t mind too much.
I actually use this as part of a whole drink I make. This is the recipe:

    Vitamin C Bomb

    juice of two limes
1 packet of Emergen-C, any flavor
1 heaping teaspoon ascorbic acid (I buy it by the 3# container here on amazon)
2 droppers-full of apricot stevia liquid (it’s made by Sweetleaf and also here on amazon)
    A splash of Rejuvelac

Put all that in a 24 oz mason jar, add some ice, fill with water and shake it up so the ascorbic acid dissolves.

Oh yeah and also, I went to the Emergen-C website and found you could fill out a form to get a free sample. Probably not going to be doing that forever, but as I write this they will send you a free sample if you’re willing to give them your name/address. Woot!

Everyone at work was talking about how well Emergen-C works and I decided to try it out. I started getting sick with a normal cold and had one glass in the morning. Within minutes I started to feel better. Not cured, just better. Throughout work I could tell the difference between working while sick without the Emergen-C and with. It kept me working through the day and when I got home I had another. Again within minutes I started feeling better. Went to bed, woke up the next day, and to my surprise I felt like I had killed the cold! I’ve been taking one packet a day and I feel great. Haven’t gotten sick sense. For the taste, it is somewhat grape-like yet not overpowering. I myself am not a fan of grape flavors but Acai Berry was delicious. If you’re getting sick I’d definitely recommend Emergen-C.
