decent fish oil at a good price, no fish burps, nice to get 600mg in one capsule,
A. Woodmansee (MN)
Informed Nutrition says these are purified to remove contaminants but they do not specify the processes or to what standards. I would bet, however, that since Informed Nutrition is a GNC brand that they are very particular about the cleanliness of their fish oil. That being said it is possible to reduce efficacy of the omegas by over purification, this is the reason our family has never gotten on the Nordic Naturals bandwagon. Without more specifics from Informed Nutrition I cannot say whether or not this is the case with this product.
600mg of omegas is indeed a 2x dose when compared to the majority of fish oil supplements out there, and it is nice to be able to get 600mg in one soft gel. However, there are other brands out there that make fish oil supplements that are even more concentrated, Natural Factors for example makes a 900mg omega soft gel that does not seem larger than Informed Nutrition’s 600mg, granted the price tag of Natural Factors is a great deal higher too. Or, another example would be Wiley’s Finest Wild Alaskan fish oil with K2 and D3 where you get 500mg (very close to Informed Nutrition’s 600mg) in one capsule and it is a great deal smaller than this Informed Nutrition capsule which can be nice if you have trouble with large capsules. Wileys even makes a 1000mg in one capsule fish oil supplement.
If you are taking fish oil for general overall health then this is a very affordable quality product. If you need to take fish oil for a particular ailment please know that omega doses do not reach therapeutic levels until at least 1200mg if not 1800mg. If you are taking fish for therapeutic reasons then again, getting 600mg in one soft gel will help reduce the number of capsules you have to take which is nice.
If you are taking (or giving) fish oil for issues such as child brain development or for something like depression then a higher ratio of DHA is better, and this Informed Nutrition has a 3:2 ratio of EPA to DHA where as, for example, Natural Factors has a 2:1 ratio and Nordic Naturals is higher than 3:2. If you are using fish oil for autism or ADD then studies have shown interestingly enough that a higher ratio of EPA to DHA was more effect, like 3:1 and higher.
Another thing to consider are other ingredients. Sometimes fish oil supplements can have things like D3 added and it can be nice to reduce the number of supplements you need to take by combining them into one especially when they compliment each other for absorption purposes or for synergistic reasons. This is sort of the camp I am in right now and I will go back to my 900mg with 1000IU vitamin D3 fish oil twice a daily for me to ward off my chronic dry eye and I will go back to the once daily 500mg omega 2000IU D3 80U K2 for my kids for bone development.
But at 600mg in just one of these Informed Nutrition capsules you are getting almost the exact amount that is recommended per day for a healthy adult which is 650mg and it has been purified and it is very affordable and has no fish burps. So you can’t really go wrong with these.

Fishing For Soybeans?,
William Hefner (EUREKA, CA USA)
On food labels the most plentiful ingredient is supposed to be listed first. So, the label here would suggest that there are more soybeans in this gelcap than actual fish oil. Perhaps this is just a misprint. I would have to imagine that it is, as there really isn’t enough room in this gelcap to hold the amount of fish oil that it states AND still have the majority of the product be soybeans. Whatever the explanation is, they really need to clarify this matter on the label and in their product description.
I’ve only taken this supplement for a few days, which obviously is not enough time to notice any type of difference. Oddly, the label recommends only 1 capsule a day, which isn’t nearly enough for any possible type of therapeutic effect. I’m taking two each day, which provides a pretty minimal dosage.

Tons of benefits; helps me with my joint pain.,
Family7 (NY, USA)
I would have liked for the fish oil to be more of a wild sourced, and or non gmo. Moreover, i wish there was no gelatin in this.
One capsule is all that is recommended per day, and i take it with food. I get no adverse reactions nor allergic reactions. I hope my information was helpful to you. Thank you.
