SOAP BOX: With any supplement I take, I tend to spend a TON of time researching before adding it to my daily regime. I think it’s always worth the time to gain as much information as possible so you can make informed decisions to achieve or maintain good health. Besides trying to live a healthier life for myself, my other motivation is my family. I don’t have a great family health history, so I’m trying to get a head start on making good health a habit right now. I constantly ask (pester?) my folks about their overall health, and one thing I’ve realized I can influence them on is with supplements. I tell them what supplements I’ve thoroughly researched, and I let them know what I’m currently taking. They’re open to suggestions and usually end up adopting these supplements as well. The issue is I started bombarding them with all sorts of products they should be taking. There was a time where I would line up 9-10 bottles of various vitamins and minerals, everything from Ashwagandha to Magnesium, Rhodiola Rosea to Zinc. This would be 2-3 times a day, and just wasn’t sustainable despite how much I felt it could benefit me. I had pretty much sworn off multivitamins, because after conducting some due diligence and research, I realized most of them were crap or overpriced. Or both. What I really needed was something that combined these supplements for me.

ENTER: Mike Matthews and Legion. Seriously, a huge breath of fresh air. I started reading Mike’s stuff on Muscle for Life (his website), and the more I read, the more I realize we share very similar views on the supplement industry and health in general. There’s so much overhyped crap out there, it can be overwhelming. I tried out his Whey Protein+ first, and loved it. Then I tried his Pulse Pre-Workout and loved that. Then this multi came out, and I had to really look at the ingredients/dosages with a critical eye – here are a few things I was really looking for that Mike nailed with this product:

Magnesium – Commonly underdosed, this has what you need at 375mg. Also I’ve had unpleasant experiences (stomach issues) with Magnesium Oxide, so I was very happy to see he used gluconate.

Vitamin D – You need to take this everyday, even if you’re not using this multivitamin. He’s got it in here at 2000IU, which is good.

Vitamin K – Synergistic with vitamin D, and typically people don’t have enough of this because it’s hard to find in a regular diet.

Zinc – I’ve seen a lot of multi’s that severely underdose zinc, there’s a good amount in here of 30mg.

There are also some extras that I really like, some I was taking as separate supplements prior to this multi:

Garlic – I was taking this for its immune boosting benefits. Happy to see it in here

Ashwagandha/Rhodiola Rosea – I have a fairly demanding job, so I’ve had issues with anxiety/stress. I was taking Ashwagandha before, but it’s great to see it in here with Rhodiola Rosea (for stress) as well.

SUMMARY: If you read this whole thing, it might seem like some hoo-rah advertisement for Mike Matthews and Legion Supplements. Well, that’s exactly what it is. Coming from an honest consumer who’s trying to maximize his good health, I’m telling you these are by far the best products I’ve come across. I’ve been looking for a great multi for a very long time, so if I can turn other people onto this and ensure that Mike doesn’t stop selling Triumph (please don’t stop selling Triumph!) then I will gladly do so. I’ve been taking Triumph for a couple of months now, and I’ve taken enough other crap that I can confidently say I can feel a difference in my daily life. It’s not going to blow your mind and all of a sudden you’re destroying PR’s at the gym and tearing through tasks at work, but there is a very noticeable difference in my energy levels, focus, confidence and general well-being. I’ve already had my family order these as well. If it isn’t obvious enough by now, I highly recommend this product! Add it to your daily regime with confidence.

I am a fan of Mike Matthews and the products he comes out with. Unlike many supplements that just have a corporate name behind them, the Legion line is probably some of the best quality ingredients you can find in similar products.

What I like about Legion is you can go on their website and see what ingredients and in the product and why they are in the product. It’s not like many other supplements where you can’t find any research to back up why it’s in the product.

I was excited by the ingredient list in the Triumph multivitamin. I knew when I started taking this I would be able to stop buying garlic and ZMA supplements. The price is a little more expensive than other multi vitamins but the ingredients don’t even come close from the competition. This is truly the best supplement and athletic person can take.

I wanted to wait over a week before writing this review to have a good idea what this product is capable of. The first couple of days I didn’t feel much of an effect. I improved my diet and took grains out of my diet. Believe it or not grains can block a lot of nutrients from being absorbed in your body. Roughly three days after starting Triumph I began to have tremoundous energy. I work out hard in the morning before work and then spend about 12 hours on my butt in an office. It’s hard to keep energy sitting all day. With Triumph I feel great and don’t feel sluggish during the day. My spirits seem to be elevated and I don’t have any soreness after my workouts. In this last week my workouts have improved dramatically. I haven’t added any other supplements so I know it’s Triumph working the magic.

I have tried numerous supplements over the past year and have never noticed any dramatic differences. Taking Triumph everything has changed. I can say this multivitamin has been amazing and I will continue to push myself to new extremes. Tommorow will be a 20 mile hike. I don’t want to stop and thankfully either does my body. Legion has found a customer for life. Thank you for bringing this amazing product out….

What good are multivitamins?, March 1, 2016

What do multivitamins do besides give you neon atomic horse pee? I don’t know. And I don’t know anybody who really does. They say stuff like “it fills in holes in your diet,” or “it’s healthy,” but nobody seems to truly know or be able to point to any noticeable difference between when they take them and when they don’t. I think we all basically figure that we eat like crap, so let’s pay $20 a month or so for something that might help mitigate that.

I don’t eat like crap, but I figure no matter what I do I will probably be missing something, so I throw in my twenty bucks and feel like I’m accomplishing something, though I don’t notice anything different other than the aforementioned radioactive pee.

I recently stumbled onto the Legion Triumph multivitamin. It’s about double what I was paying, but I liked a lot of what Mike Matthews, founder of Legion Supplements, had to say. I still didn’t really expect it to work, but I figured the worst that could happen was I would be out an extra 20 bucks for weird pee.

For the people who like to whine about everything, there are a couple negligible inconveniences with this multivitamin. Yes, the taste isn’t incredible, though I’ve never had a multivitamin that I would confuse with a gumdrop. It’s a very slight taste and this issue can easily be remedied by swallowing quickly. If you can handle something on your tongue for less than five seconds that doesn’t taste like fluffy cloud candy, you should be just fine.

The smell, same. Again, it’s very slight. If you don’t like the smell, you can easily solve this by not sticking your nose in the bottle. Short of doing that, I’ve never noticed an odor to them at all.

Also, yes, you have to take quite a few of them (four with lunch and four more with dinner *gasp!*). So if you don’t have time in your busy schedule to take several pills every day, this may not be for you.

But if you’re an adult who can handle minor inconveniences without sobbing and soiling yourself, this multivitamin is definitely worth it. If you look at the list of ingredients and how much there is of each, you will quickly figure out why it requires so many pills.

You may also notice, as I did, that you feel remarkably better when you take them. Like I said, I assumed these pills weren’t going to work, so I’m not a victim of the placebo effect. I have a consistent stream of energy throughout the day and find my gym workout goes better, too.

What I also noticed, which really surprised me, is how much better I started sleeping once I had been using this product for several days. I suck at a lot of things, but there are few I’m worse at than sleeping. My body is usually done at around four hours. Since taking Triumph, I’ve been sleeping seven to eight hours a night. I didn’t even realize that was something a multivitamin could accomplish.

If you have to snivel and gripe whenever things aren’t exactly perfect, you may want to continue looking for a multivitamin. But if you can handle the minor issues of less-than-ideal-taste and smell, and having to take a lot of pills each day, I think you’ll find the benefits are well worth it. I’m so glad I found this multivitamin and an investing my money in something that is actually benefiting me instead of just flushing money down the toilet.

I did NOT receive this product at a discount price for an “honest review.” I paid full price and will continue to do so happily and for the same reason I gave it five stars: it works.
