Creatine Monohydrate is a naturally occurring compound found in the human body and obtained in the diet primarily from meat and fish. Creatine is a popular supplement among active individuals because of its ability to serve as an energy reservoir, especially during intense physical exertion. During short, intense bursts of activity, the body breaks down adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and phosphate for energy. Creatine helps the body convert ADP back to ATP, prov

This review is from: NOW Foods Creatine Powder, 2.2 Pounds (Health and Beauty)

I cycle creatine 3-4 times a year and i have only one when goal when i take it and that is to gain weight. More weight on me, means the more weight i can push in the gym, and the more weight i can push in the gym translates into more muscle, plain and simple.

I always switch the dlbrand of dreariness that I’m taking from cycle to cycle. This is the first creatine I’ve taken back to back, and I’ve tried a lot of dreariness over the years. The price helps but more so were the results I got while on it, and if you factor in the low price for this brand its automatically q winner in my book. I gained a total of 24 pounds over two 12 week cycles. Of course, a lot of it was water weight and eventually i lost a lot or that weight but i was still able to keep 9 pounds of solid mass after stopping it completely. I would recommend this creatine as one of the best one’s out there in terms of cost and effectiveness.

    A few disclaimers:

    1) i mix it with grape juice. Any juice will probably do but the point is to take it with a very sugary drink. The crestine literally latches onto the sugar and gets absorbed 10 tines better inti your body this way.

    2) creatine is not the only supplement that i take. I’ve done a lot of research on natural testosterone boosters and I’ve taken Muscle Maxx for the ten weeks in between both cycles –Muscle Maxx Pro + FREE L-Arginine (Nitric Oxide Booster) 250 Grams. Probably why I was able to keep so much weight on while i wasn’t taking the crestine. If you muscle gain is your goal, i would recommend thus supplement or something that has similar ingredients (i.e. L-arginine, daa, longjack, etc.)

    3) on the creatine label, it will specifically say that loading is not required. That would be nice if this is true but i still do a loading phase of 10 grams (two times per day) for the first week. I gain a good bulk of the weight in the first week and I’m pretty sure its because of the loading phase.

I’ve been a certified personal trainer since 1996 and I’m well aware of all the hype surrounding supplements. Check out any bodybuilder magazine and you’ll find most of the pages are ads devoted to supplements. In my opinion, most are NOT worth the money! There are, however, a handful of products that do what they claim, are backed up by the scientific community and well worth looking in to. One of those is Creatine. If you are serious about lifting weights and making gains – creatine should be on your shopping list. And, after you do look around, you’ll find that Creatine by NOW is priced VERY nicely! Compare for yourself. Like I said in the title, NOW may not be the fanciest or most colorful product, but I have found it to be the best. Best quality, best price, best company. I also recommend their soy protein supplement, but that’s another review. Good luck!
