This review is from: P90X2: The Next P90X Blu-Ray Series Ultimate Kit (Sports)
This is a great product that does exactly what it is intended to do, build functional fitness. It has a lot of balance/coordination moves and is great at strengthening your kinetic chain. Most of the exercises are done with some form of instability use a medicine ball, stability ball, or using one leg. Examples of this include bicep curls in warrior 3 and pushups on the med ball or stability ball.

The items in this kit (ultimate blu-ray) are very high quality and allow you to get a lot more out of the workouts then you would otherwise. Having said that, it would have been nice if the kit had included 4 med balls instead of 2 and left out the pushup stands, but that is not a big deal. It is worthwhile to price out the components and see what is the best option. At the time I bought this kit it was less expensive to get the kit then buy the individual components.

I like having the blu-ray version as there are fewer discs then the DVD version and they have a lifetime guarantee.

Compared to P90x (classic sequence), the workouts tend to be shorter (typically 55 – 60 min) and you do the ab routine (approx 15 min) once a week in the first phase, 3x a week in the second phase, and not at all in the third phase. There are also two rest days compared to one in P90x. Using instability makes it more difficult to lift heavy so if your only goal is to loose weight and build muscle then P90x is a more suitable product. If you are not as concerned about how you look on the beach, then this will make you more powerful even though you are lifting less.
