Stevia Sweetened Protein Bars… Finally!, December 29, 2011

I’ve now gone through thee boxes and two separate orders of these bars. I’m hypoglycemic and need to avoid sugar consumption while getting extra protein. Also, I am trying to avoid artificial sweeteners. It’s not an easy combination to find in a ready to eat protein supplement. I was so relieved to find these bars. Not only are these bars stevia sweetened, they taste decent. Sometimes stevia has an awful aftertaste. Not so with these bars. I will say the taste of these bars is very good, not outstanding… just very good. That’s why this product gets 4 instead of 5 stars. However, they are good. I look forward to eating them and they are very filling with an excellent protein load. I’ve also tried the chocolate fudge flavor and it was good as well.

Stevia, no aspartame!, September 15, 2015

I will definitely order again. These bars are about what you’d expect from a protein bar as far as taste goes, but they are sweetened with stevia, which does not cause the nasty gas maltitol can, and without the health concerns of aspartame and sucralose. It does have fructose and a little sucrose also, but it packs a whopping 18 grams of protein, 14 grams of fiber, and between 15% – 40% of the RDA of many vitamins and minerals. If you are on a high protein diet (not necessarily a low-carb diet though – 32 grams carbs, and 9 of those grams are sugar) this would be a good bar to have for breakfast in the car on the way to work. The peanut butter goes great with coffee. Don’t let them sit in the sun or otherwise get hot: the peanut butter coating melts. It’s still tasty, but it’s messy. 🙂
The main draw for me is the lack of aspartame, and the high protein.
