Solid thermogenic, reviewers need to understand the niacin flush, October 25, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: BPI Sports Roxylean 60 Caps, 1 month supply, 0.15-Pound (Health and Beauty)

This is a solid thermogenic that is ephedera free and WORKS.

I want to break this review down into sections to address the various elements of this product:

    1) Caffiene: This product contains 450mg of caffeine per dose. It has a caffeine warning on the side for a reason. If you are not a regular coffee drinker, you need to work up to a dose this high. This is the equivalent of three cups of strong coffee. For a non coffee drinker, you will be bouncing off the walls from a single dose this high. I recommend that unless you already drink coffee every day, you start drinking coffee a few days before taking this product to get your body used to it. This dose may cause difficulty sleeping if you take it within 10 hours of your desired bed time.

    2) Niacin (vitamin b3): This product has a pretty high dose of Niacin. Niacin is good for you and causes your cells to release toxins, but the result of that is your immune system reacts to those toxins and you get what is called a Niacin Flush. Niacin flush manifests with: Skin itching, skin redness, sweating, possibly dizziness, possible nausea. Some people flush really strongly, others not so much. If you have never taken Niacin before, you need to prepare to possibly have this reaction. I recommend taking a multivitamin with niacin for a few days before you start on this product. This effect goes away over time as your body gets used to the Niacin. The flush I experienced was actually very slight, just some very light skin itching and no redness, but some people have strong reactions.

    3) The thermogenic effect: This product does its job. I feel warmer all over, I have a very very light sweat going almost all day when I take this product in the morning on an empty stomach. This is one way that the product helps with weight loss, by raising your metabolic rate even while you are at rest. Before ephedra was taken off the market, ephedra was used to produce this effect and it worked VERY well, but it was risky. This product produces a nice, manageable thermogenic boost without the ephedra, which is a great thing. The light sweat I get throughout the day is not enough to soil my clothes or create embarrasing sweat marks…but if you are prone to sweating, I recommend you keep this in mind.

    4) Appetite suppression: This WORKS. My routine is to have only coffee in the morning until lunch, where I will have a very light meal, then I train or do strength conditioning/cardio from about 6-8pm usually, and finally I will eat in the evening after my workout. This is a modification of the Warrior Diet and it works very well for me. When on this product, I do not feel hungry at ALL even around lunchtime when my body and my metabolism is trained to expect food. I am actually very impressed with the effectiveness of the appetite suppression in this product. Be careful though – You still need to eat. If you stay at a caloric deficit too long, you can lose muscle mass and screw up your metabolic cycle, so be sure to eat enough to avoid going into full on starvation mode. I try to spend most of the day in “lean” mode where I consume only water and a few calories to keep my stomach settled, then train, then feast at night when I’m in recovery mode. This works for me, and this product compliments that approach.

Overall I am very impressed with Roxylean and I feel that many of the negative reviews were a result of the people having no idea what to expect from this kind of a product.

Start off light: The first day you take this, have a very light breakfast and take only a half dose (its easy to open the capsules and shake out some of the powder, then close the capsule back up). Wait an hour or so and see how you feel. You should feel a tingling from the niacin and caffeine after about 25-30 minutes, and the appetite suppression will kick in after about an hour. If you get to that point and feel good still, then take the rest of the dose (before noon! you have to sleep tonight!). Once you get stable with that, you can then try the product on a totally empty stomach in a full dose…but I recommend that if this is your first time on a thermogenic, and your first time taking a high dose of caffeine or niacin…go slow with this, because this is a VERY potent product.

I plan on cycling this product one week on, one week off, as most thermogenics will stop working if you take them every day for weeks, your body will adjust. Keep it guessing by cycling on and off the product if you plan to use this for more than a week or so.

Lastly: DRINK A TON OF WATER WHILE ON THIS PRODUCT. You should be waking up, drinking at least a liter of water right away, and then continue to hydrate throughout the day. This product is going to be both a diuretic, AND promote sweating…so you will get dehydrated easier than normal. Especially during workouts, you will sweat like…

This is technically the 3rd bottle i have bought. the first bottle has this description on the bottle:
    RoxyLean ECA
    Pharmacological Weight Loss
    686mg/capsule
    Pharmaceutical Grade

The bottle above worked great. I only took 1 capsule a day so it lasted me 2months. lost 10lbs. then was off of it for over a month as it recommends.
Then just recently i ordered a 2nd bottle and started using it a couple weeks ago. when i took this it this time i felt weird. not a good weird either but nausea that didn’t go away. i had a bit of nausea on my 1st bottle but it went away after an hr or so. this 2nd bottle didn’t. it also gave me stomach cramps that made me want to go empty my bowels. felt like a laxative. then after a week i decided to take a closer look at the bottle and noticed it looked the same but they changed the formula. the 2nd bottle read as:
    RoxyLean (it didn’t say ECA)
    Medi-Biological Weight Loss
    725mg/capsule
    Professional Grade

As you can see even though i ordered from the same place (Amazon – fullfilled by Amazon) and the same site page i got two different types. the 2nd bottle feels way more strong and makes you go to the bathroom a lot like a laxative.

I emailed Amazon about it and stated i wanted the Pharmaceutical Grade not the New formula Professional Grade. Because the site says the Pharmaceutical grade. So they sent me a new bottle free of charge for the mishap.

All in all RoxyLean is GREAT! but make sure which Grade you get when ordering. like i mentioned the 2nd bottle was a higher dose at 725mg/capsule compared to 686mg/capsule. I also found out that there are even higher doses so again be careful which one you order.

i wanted to return this because it started giving me a head ache and i didnt feel well. when I bought this i thought it was a 686 mg like the picture but instead i got 725 mg. when i asked for a refund they wanted me to send it to them. I emailed them back and asked them if they can send me a return label because why should I have to pay for shipping when it was wrong advertisement and their product is non-effective. they didnt even bother to email me back. this is a useless product. doesnt help you lose weight. terrible customer service as well.
