Vitamin D,
I have been taking these for years, supposedly for not worrying about vitamin deficiencies. Well, my latest blood test showed vitamin D deficiency. After years taking these every day. According to the label, they have 400UI, daily requirement is 600UI for my age. I consume meat and dairy products. Not a vegan. So I am not lacking D in the diet, and even if I am, and this thing is supposed to supplement.
Centrum has D3 supplements, separately. So, multivitamin means take multiple supplements? I am now looking for a better multivitamin (single product).

To those getting stomach pains… And a little extra,
I would like to firstly review this product, even though I haven’t ordered it on Amazon, I think we’ve all purchased at least one of these in our lives. The thing about multivitamins is that it’s meant for those that require a little bit of almost everything, especially for kids that don’t want to eat or adults that don’t have time to eat very well. Usually excess vitamins go through your system, but this isn’t always the case and depending on the vitamin, it can have serious consequences from simple stomach pains to organ failure and other overdose symptoms. Multivitamins, unless explicitly told by a doctor, shouldn’t be combined with a dedicated vitamin. Dedicated vitamins are usually used for those with a particular disorder, or condition whether it be temporary or permanently. I’m not an expert in this field, but I have read and heard a lot to know that it’s always best to consult your doctor before taking centrum or any kind of vitamins. IF you are getting stomach aches, I’d recommend you stop and see a doctor, because that’s not normal. I know if I have too much vitamin C, I get the runs pretty bad.
Centrum contains certain ingredients that doesn’t need to be listed, such as aspartame. I don’t know if all vitamins are synthetic or natural but I have heard that centrum contains synthetic vitamins. What I don’t know is if this matters or not, however there have been reports that in the past, centrum multivitamin has been able to cause cancer. I don’t believe this is the case today, though like I said before I would highly recommend speaking with a doctor and having blood-work to find out if your body needs this or that before jumping to a multivitamin.
Personally, when I take centrum I feel like I can think more clearly because I’m slightly deficient in everything due to my poor eating habits. I also feel better and less depressed when I take it. It’s the extra boost for my day, but that’s how I experience it. It could be placebo, I don’t know, but my eating habits are pretty bad (think college life) so multivitamins are a great help for me (I think?).
