Great way to get protein without so many calories, June 23, 2012

I am a bariatric patient and I am required to intake 60g of protein or more a day. Due to my significant reduction in my stomach size I cannot intake enough food to make the 60g mark. These for me are the best way to get my protein. They are only 180 calories and 42 g of protein. You cannot get that with bars or shakes b/c you are looking at 300+ calories for 40-50 g of protein. This product isn’t all roses. It causes loose stools and the taste isn’t the best. I started out using these by mixing half tube with water twice a day so I could tolerate the taste. Now I shoot the whole thing in less than a minute so I can get it over with and move on with my day. The acai berry, grape, and blue rasp are the ones I tolerate (taste wise) the best. The others are really gross in my opinion. I recommend going to a health store such as Vitamin Shop/GNC and even Wal-mart and try a vile before you buy so many at a time. It was trial and error for me but this is what works best for me. Good luck!!!

I’m not a body builder, but I’m trying to lose weight and slim down. I use the whey 42g liquid protein shot as a supplement, 2 a day. I have a lot of weight to loose and find it very difficult to get enough lean protein in my diet without going over my daily calorie allowance. These shots make it possible. I’ve tried the fruit punch and Grape so far and both taste good. Not that they are like candy, but I’ve tasted a lot of shakes that are far worse than these. Thank you IDS!
