I loooooooooooove this shake (vanilla and chocolate kind),
I use both the vanill and the chocolate kind (not together). I drink it everyday after my workout. It is very refreshing and I feel like it really has been helping my muscle recovery. Not only that, at only 100 calories it is really filling!
I don’t really know why others have complained about the flavor of these shakes. I don’t expect this to taste like a full fat milkshake, but it is delicious!! I have never tried just mixing it with water, so that might make a difference in taste, but the way I take it everyday is blended in a blender with a cup of ice and a small amount of water. The less water you put in, the more it actually comes out to taste like icecream! Yum!!
I particularly prefer the vanilla flavor one because I like to dump in 1/2 of a banana everytime I make my shake with one scoop of the protein powder. I have found that the banana in the chocolate doesn’t taste as great as with the vanilla. My suggestion, get bananas, peel them, cut them in quarters each, put them in a ziplock bag, and freeze them. When making your shake, put in the cup of ice, a small amount of water (maybe 1/2 cup), half of the frozen banana (2 quarters), and blend away. It is sooooooo tasty!! It has become a great comfort food and reward for me after each workout.
In fact, I just ordered 8 more containers (4 chocolate, and 4 vanilla) to have in hand.
This is probably not allowed to be mentioned, but, if you want to save a few more bucks, get these shakes from Walmart.com. Each container costs $10 and shipping is free 🙂
Go ahead, try this, and be optimistic. The chocolate won’t taste like a chocolate bar, but it feels nice and healthy, and does the job.
